Author

Boozhoo! My name is Sheryl, but my Anishinaabe name is Misko-Miigwan Kwe and I am a Native American educator and storyteller.  I currently reside in Dafter, Michigan. I have two children, a wonderful daughter, amazing son, and two Boxer dogs, Mila, and Scooby Doo.

Through my writing, I seek to share knowledge, inspire growth, and honor the traditions and experiences of Native communities. I believe that education has the power to transform lives, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for future generations. Whether writing about leadership, education, culture, or community, my goal is to encourage understanding, empower learners, and celebrate the resilience and wisdom of Indigenous people.

Roots of the Story

I wrote Seven Forest Friends: A Journey of the Heart to share the beautiful teachings that have guided generations of Indigenous people. Through the adventures of a young child and seven forest animal friends, I hope children learn about love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, and truth, and discover how these teachings can help them live a good life every day.
